Time for some fashion

I recently talked about how to mix and match colors with clothes over at Helium.com, and I got to thinking about some of the styles for the Spring-Summer fashion. I really like to mix and match colors. It's fun to try some dark colors with light colors, it just depends how you mix and match them.

I'm an old fashioned girl, so I like to look as comfortable as possible. Sometimes it's fun to mix something kind of bland, with something bold and outrageous. For example, this shirt is as plain as it can get, but if you mix it with a skirt like this, it creates something pretty interesting. It's floral chic!

How about the other way around? A crazy top with a bland bottom?

This is a really pretty top. I love the floral pattern right dab in the middle, with the right breasts it'd look amazing. With mine? It'd just look okay. (Not insecure. Just speaking the truth!) Now, mix that top with normal shorts like these and the results are pretty amazing. The dark red on the bottoms mix great with the light pink, darkish pink floral design. They come together and look not only great, but playful, which is just my style.

How about dresses? When it comes to dresses, I don't like to "over-flaunt". It can be a really nice dress but if it's too tight around my hips (curvy woman here!), then I won't feel as comfortable wearing it. (I'd learn to deal with it with this dress however! It's too gorgeous and vintage-chic not to!) This dress is great for not only those pretty spring weather-y days, but for an outing too. The belt and fabric of the dress make it look but casual, and dressy. This dress is another great example of that.

And shoes? You can't forget about shoes. Sandals are great for normal occassions, but that doesn't mean you can't spice up a bland outfit with heels or boots. My previous outfit choice with the bright pinkish top and floral skirt would look kick-ass with these shoes. The short red bottoms and purple-pinkish floral design in the front top? These shoes.

Spring-Summer fashions is starting to look really interesting, don't you think? If you have any ideas, feel free to e-mail me.

Shameless self promotion

One of the things you gotta know about me before anything is that I'm creative. I love to write and I love to use my imagination for things. I've been trying to break out in the publishing world and one of the ways I have is by using this really neat website called Helium.com.

It's a great website for struggling writers because not only does it give you a platform to get your writing going, but it even helps you earn the more you write! Granted, you'll get paid a penny or so for every article that gets traffic, but it's good exercise for writers. They have a section on their website called "Marketplace" where publishers want writers to write about specific topics. You can earn up to $100 depending on the publisher. They even have writing contests to try. So if you want to take your first step in the writing world, Helium.com is the best place to do it.

PS. If you'd like to read my articles, you can go here. It'll give you a sense of what my writing is like and what to expect on this blog.
